It is an exciting time in the world of Speech, Debate, and Drama! We enjoyed two camps this summer, and the campers learned so much. In both camps, students performed on the last day for their parents. The debaters competed last year in Domestic Policy, and this year they will be competing in Foreign Policy. They have a lot of material to learn, but they are excited and focused! :)
I know that there will be at least 30 members in the All Saints Speech and Debate Team this year. That is so exciting! Every year we grow! Practices will begin the first week of September. The debaters will be meeting with Mr. Wilson and Mr. Bagley on Tuesdays from 3:35-5:00 p.m. Speech students may come on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 3:35-4:30. Both groups will meet in my classroom, #303 Fine Arts.
Tournaments will begin in November. I will be posting a schedule very soon!
As of now, I have two classes of Speech Contest, one 5th/6th and one 7th/8th. Students are busy choosing individual pieces to prepare for a presentation grade in class and for competition. Everyone is very excited! As usual, Dave Barry's Humorous Prose is the most popular! I'm looking forward to a fun and productive year!
